At Squire we are serious about our hounds but we believe in having a sense of humor about ourselves. Squire’s Black and Tan coonhounds all have achieved American Kennel Club (AKC) Grand Champion status. Two of our hounds have been sired by American Black and Tan Coonhound Club (ABTCC) hall of fame dogs. Dogs used for breeding purposes have completed all breed recommended health clearances for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart. Our hounds are family members and live in our home with us. They also enjoy a large outside yard where they exercise and play daily. At the same time, our name, Squire, was adopted from a jest made by a friend who started calling me the squire because we live in the country and own three coonhounds. With tongue-in-cheek, we call our female dogs belles (Hattie Belle and Jazzabelle), and male dog, or beau, Train.
